Having survived a grueling test period with the officers of the NSW Police Force Bicycle Training and Coordination Unit the saddles passed the test to make it as an integral part of the final bike roll out.

2010 NZ Ironman Champion Cameron Brown!

Cameron Brown 2010 NZ Ironman Champion

Cameron Brown 2010 NZ Ironman Champion

It was another exciting day for me yesterday as I took my 9th Bonita New Zealand Ironman title, but things didn’t go my way for the first part of the race.

Conditions were fantastic for the 3.8km swim, flat calm waters greeted the 1300 athletes.  The professionals started 15 minutes ahead of the age groupers as darkness was just lifting.  I tried to get on the feet of Keiran Doe and Terenzo Bozzone, but Keiran blasted out of the blocks right from the cannon with Bozzone on his feet and I was left floundering in their wake.   Bozzone was able to stay with Doe for the first few kilometres, and I swam the 3.8kms completely on my own, so limiting my losses was the only consolation.   I thought I was a lot closer to them coming out of the water, until I heard over the PA I was four minutes down on Keiran and three minutes down on Terenzo.  This was not the start I had planned, but I was…

Ironman Cameron Brown attributes his fastest ever Marathon to riding his SMP saddle!

The 8 time NZ Ironman Champion has been using SMP since January and in his first Ironman riding an SMP saddle he felt the advantage of the saddle most strongly after getting off the bike leg where he was able to produced a stellar run leg to win his 8th NZ Ironman Title;

“Since using SMP, both at this year’s NZ Ironman and the NZ half Ironman Championships in January I had my best ever runs. I ran my fastest ever marathon this year at Taupo in 2:43... I am just getting off the bike in better shape.”

SMP saddles are designed around the body and the ergonomic shape is something Brown says has really made a big difference to his efficiency on the bike;

“I’m not moving around like on a normal saddle, on SMP you are able to sit in the one position the whole time and there is no changing back and forth…on other saddles you are always searching to try and stay comfortable and with SMP you…
