Living in Wonthaggi, Victoria, not far from Phillip Island it might be surprising that Nick is a road cyclist rather than a motor bike rider but at the age of 8 he took up riding after watching his dad race in the local track carnival.
In 2002 he took out his first state title in the U13’s and by 2008 he was just shy of making the Junior World Championships. Although missing out on the Worlds team that year he raced with the Australian B team in Canada, winning the first stage of the Coup de Nations tour and placing 2nd overall.
Nick found himself some good form for the 2009 Herald Sun Tour where he placed 11th overall and won the best young rider award and a spot on the Jayco Skins AIS team for 2010. Domestique duties for his European Season with the Jayco Skins AIS team didn’t stop him from getting some good results with a 6th place in the Zeeland Tour (Holland).
